- Founder & President -
Rex Allen is responsible for the company’s long-range strategic vision. Prior to the formation of Pointe Property Group, Mr. Allen gained real estate experience by developing over one million square feet of industrial space as a major stockholder in Imperial Cup Corporation.
The same work ethic, community values and commitment to excellence that drove Imperial Cup to the heights of success before its acquisition by International Paper, Inc. in 1989, continues to fuel the underlying philosophy of Pointe.
- CFO & Director of Finance -
Ms. Manis is responsible for maintaining general ledgers, preparation and review of monthly financial statements and ensuring tax compliance by processing local, county and state business tax returns and annual information returns.
Ms. Manis also prepares construction budgets and proformas, maintains construction costs and contract files and assists in due diligence on new property acquisitions. As Director of Finance her responsibilities also include assistance with leasing negotiations and preparation of proposals and leasing agreements. She prepares all operating budgets and expense reconciliation for real estate owned.
Ms. Manis is a graduate of Kennesaw State University in Marietta, Georgia, with a BBA in Finance and Economics. Prior to joining Pointe Property Group in 2001 she handled real estate closings and managed offices for the law firm of Sanford A. Cohn, P.A., Atlanta, Georgia for sixteen years.
- Vice President of Property Development -
Mr. Allen provides lease administration for the commercial portfolio and participates in budgeting and reporting to maximize the returns for the benefit of the tenants, owners and the community.
Mr. Allen oversees management of office, industrial and retail properties, directs the loss prevention activities, risk management and other operational responsibilities, including directing the property management staff in administration of lease terms. He negotiates the leases and terms and confidently interacts with and provides excellent customer service.
His participation in periodic property/portfolio reviews, requiring detailed market research, reflects the owner’s objectives for operating the property. Mr. Allen provides estimating, project scheduling and continual monitoring of critical dates necessary for a development project, building construction or tenant build-outs.
Prior to joining Pointe Property Group in 2003, Mr. Allen obtained his B.A. in Comparative Sociology from the University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, Washington.
Laura Allen Jefferies
- Financial Analyst -
Laura Jefferies is responsible for analyzing financial information to produce forecasts of business, industry, and economic conditions for use in making investment decisions for real estate and equity investments for Pointe Property Group and other related entities. She also evaluates and compares the relative quality of various securities in a given industry.
Ms. Jefferies is fundamental in interpreting data affecting investment programs and monitors economic developments through the analysis of information obtained from financial publications and services, investment banking firms, company sources, and personal interviews.
Ms. Jefferies is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a BBA in Finance and a Certificate in Personal and Organizational Leadership. Prior to joining Pointe Property Group in 2006, Ms. Jefferies was employed by Home Depot as a Financial Analyst wherein she maintained the monthly sales, margins and expense plans for over 2,000 stores.

Val Hyde attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a major in Business Administration. For over 20 years, she has worked in all areas of office management and workplace coordination.
Mrs. Hyde’s responsibilities include management of Accounts Payable & Receivable, as well as client and interoffice communications. Mrs. Hyde is the tenant’s first point of contact. Contact Mrs. Hyde with any questions, comments, or concerns. She will be the best person for directing tenants to the Pointe Property Team member that will be able to assist them with their needs.
It is the little things that make Val Hyde an important member of the Pointe Property Group. Mrs. Hyde keeps the office operating smoothly and efficiently. Her ability to organize and coordinate keeps the entire Pointe Property Group functioning at the highest levels.
- Marketing Manager -
John Clevenger came to Pointe Property Group in the summer of 2015. Initially hired as an intern, Mr. Clevenger demonstrated passion and competence. Pointe Property Group recognized this and promoted him. Tasked with running the Marketing Department, Mr. Clevenger’s responsibilities include the creation of company advertisements, presentations, or any other marketing campaigns or needs as they arise. John Clevenger also assists with the creation of documents, leases, proposals, contracts, handbooks, manuals, and research. Mr. Clevenger graduated from Lipscomb University in 2014. He lives in Ooltewah, TN.
- Facilities & Grounds Maintenance -
Chris Evans has a diverse background with professional training that ranges from employee and customer relations to certifications in both forklift operation and MIG welding. His experience includes management of employees, payroll and transportation.
Mr. Evans is responsible for the maintenance of all buildings and facilities at The Pointe Centre, upkeep of the extensive landscaping on the campus and works directly with tenants handling any needs or repairs on their behalf.

Rex Allen, founder of Pointe Property Group, is responsible for the company’s strategic vision.
Prior to the formation of Pointe Property Group (formerly Commercial Management), Mr. Allen gained real estate experience from his involvement in the acquisition and construction of over one million square feet of industrial space in five states with Imperial Cup Corporation. A closely held family owned business, Imperial Cup Corporation met with great success during the Allen family’s years of ownership. The family sold the cup business in 1989 to International Paper, Inc, and found new success in the real estate industry.
Pointe Property Group’s premier development is The Pointe Centre, but Pointe has developed and invested in office, retail, and industrial space throughout the Chattanooga area. In addition to its contributions to the Chattanooga market, Pointe Property Group has partnered with the Allen Group to develop office, industrial, and inland port projects in California and Texas for nationally recognized clients.
The principals of Pointe Property Group formed their own general contracting firm, Pointe General Contractors, in 2003 to perform tenant buildouts and multi story office buildings. Pointe General Contractors has become a well respected full service general contracting firm licensed throughout the region.
Pointe Property Group’s disciplined business practices allowed for continued success through the recent market downturn, and Pointe Property Group is well positioned to continue to deliver quality office, industrial, and retail space for its clients.

This has been an ongoing tradition, as members of the Allen family have continually been generous partners to the communities in which they do business.
